The FrSky Taranis Q X7 is one of the latest transmitter in the FrSky Taranis series to be updated to the ACCESS protocol. Another feature of this version of the Q X7 is that the battery compartment has been modified so that it can use 2 x 18650 Li-ion cells (not supplied), these can be balanced charged via the Mini USB Interface. The ACCESS communication protocol comes pre-installed as standard and it brings with it a whole host of new features. It now has an incredible 24 (ACCESS) channels or 16 (ACCST D16) all with a faster baud rate and lower latency thanks to the high speed module digital interface. It provides a secure and reliable link along with wireless updating which makes it compatible with FrSky’s latest line of OTA receivers.
The Q X7 is a lightweight feature packed reliable transmitter system that has the G7 Noble potentiometer quad ball bearing gimbals for smooth and precise control. It has an ergonomic and compact design and has all the usual Taranis features such as, Receiver Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) alerts, Real-time Flight Data Logging and receiver matching. This versatile transmitter allows you to determine which flying mode to set the radio to (ie: Mode 1, Mode 2 etc) and also if you want self-centering spring-loaded sticks (standard) or the usual non-centering throttle.
The Taranis Q X7 mixes the power of the “OPEN TX” open-source software with upgraded 6 programmable switches (4 x 3-position, 1 x 2-position, 1 x momentary) and 2 rotary knobs. This is great for setting up your switches and controls just how you want them. Using the Micro SD card slot you have unlimited model memory options and you can copy and use all your existing model files from the older TARANIS X9D/X9D Plus/X9E making it easy to get the new system up and working.
The Q X7 also has a USB port for upgrades and to connect to a PC for settings adjustments. Using the wheel and center enter button makes navigating the large daylight readable backlit menu easy and precise. Alerts can be presented in the form of audio speech outputs, sound or vibration making this an extremely user-friendly transmitter. The module bay can be used for JR-type modules with other protocol receivers and also for the use of a FrSky XJT module.
This version of the Taranis Q X7 is supplied with an International version (900MHz) of the popular FrSky R9M long range telemetry module. This module works perfectly with the FrSky R9 receivers and has 4 RF modes. These modes are 10mW, 100mW, 500mW and 100mW-1W (self adaptive), it is also Smart Port enabled to support the telemetry data transmission and auto detects PXX and CPPM modulations.
The FrSky Taranis Q X7 is a lightweight, reliable and very versatile radio transmitter that is very cost effective.
